Google Talk
Google Talk is a free and easy service you can use to make voice calls, to send instant messages, to transfer files, and to leave voicemail messages for your friends. This downloadable Windows application makes real-time communications simple and intuitive.
Get it now! Once you've installed Google Talk on your computer, sign in with your Google Account username and password. If you use Gmail, your Gmail contacts will automatically be included in your Google Talk Friends list, so you can call and chat with your friends once they install Google Talk, too.
All you need to make calls with Google Talk is a Google Account, an internet connection, a microphone, and a speaker. That's it! Your friends can be anywhere in the world, and you can talk for as long as you want. All calls are free, and the voice quality is excellent (for optimal voice quality, we recommend a headset). Google Talk also does everything the Gmail Notifier used to do, and can show notifications for new messages in your Gmail inbox, as well as for incoming calls or chats.
Google Talk System Requirements
To use Google Talk, the first thing you'll need is a Google Account (if you use Gmail, you already have a Google Account). Make sure you're using Windows 2000, XP (Home & Pro), Vista, or Windows Server 2003. You'll also need a minimum 56k dial-up connection, but we recommend a broadband connection for the best experience.
To make voice calls, you'll need access to a microphone and speakers (we recommend using a headset for optimal voice quality).
